GPS-Radio Monitoring /
General
Recomendation
Functioning of UHF
radio network (range of action, reliability of the
data link) depends on many conditions and including:
- a lay of land and presence of natural obstacles;
- presence of artificial obstacles (artificial
constructions);
- arrangements of base station and
altitude
of installation of the
base station receiving
antenna;
- quality of the reception aerial (factor of
amplification of the reception aerial-
gain factor);
- qualities of a feeding path of the reception aerial
(length of a cable and attenuation in a cable);
- presence of a radio noise (extraneous) signals on
frequency of data transmission.
Depending on the above-named conditions range of data
transmission can vary from 5 up to 30 km.
For increase a radius of action it is recommended:
- to place the reception center (Monitoring Station) in
the highest part of district;
- to not place the reception center (Monitoring Station)
near to sources of an industrial radio noise and high
voltage lines;
- to make installation of the reception antenna of the
Monitoring Station as it is possible above;
- to apply as the reception aerial narrow-band aerials
with the maximal gain factor;
- to apply a high-frequency cable from the reception
aerial with the minimal attenuation (and to minimize
length of this cable);
- on a vehicle to apply
vehicles
aerials with
the
high gain
factor.
